52 [2009]

Some good friends - who are also good photographers, designers, and artists  - formed a virtual group on flikr with the objective of creating an image every week for a year. A visual journal and journey of 2009.

My contribution is images I have captured on the iPhone 3G,

  01_iPhone_Clovis

The day after my grandmothers' funeral my mom took Jennifer and I to see the home she grew up in on a farm located outside of Clovis, New Mexico. As we turned down the road she commented, 'this road has not changed in 50 years, it is still full of ruts and dust'. My guess is it will be the last time I see her home as there is now little reason to return.

02_iPhone_Chicago

A 3 hour flight to Chicago was the first step to a 2 day journey to India. It was a fairly clear day to see the windy city.

iPhone 3G. Color levels adjusted to compensate for airplane windows.

03_iPhone_Elf

We had a faded green elf that sat in our tree guarding the presents growing up. He was my favorite non-ornament to put in the tree. He went missing sometime during my college career. This blue elf has been in service in our tree for 7 years and has done a wonderful job so far.

iPhone 3G, SteadyCam app, increased contrast and saturation

04_iPhone_DIA

I drove past the blue horse too many times picking up family for the holiday to not attempt to incorporate it into this weeks' image. The blue horse serves as good opening conversation for the first 5 minutes leaving DIA that it is fact not for the Denver Broncos.

iPhone 3G, taken at approximately 60mph.

05_iPhone_Moses

Moses under the covers recovering from activity over the last few weeks.

06_iPhone_St.Marks

Kitchen window inside St. Marks Coffee House, my home of Tuesday mornings for almost 4 years.

07_iPhone_McKye

Brunch with the nephew at Mimi's Cafe. I didn't see the reflection until after. Sentimentality and the accidental capture make it the image of the week.

iPhone 3G, PS color and levels adjustment.

08_iPhone_DBG

In the middle of January the object that was growing the most at the Denver Botanic Gardens was the new parking structure.

09_iPhone_walk

A slow week for images. A good Saturday walk around Wash Park with Moses and Jennifer though.

10_iPhone_Edwards

The sunlight and the vines on the wall at Edwards Tobacco provided a perspective that seemed to create a longer green wall of ivy rather than the short white brick wall.

11_iPhone_crow

A black crow sat in the tree calling to Moses and I our entire walk around the park. It flew away as soon a I took this picture. Odd bird.

12_iPhone_bowling

TNL Middle School at Moe's BBQ & Bowling. Difficult to roll the ball and hold the iPhone - this ball was not a strike.

13_iPhone_voodoo

A box of infamous Vodoo Doughnuts driven 18 hours from Portland, Oregon by our new friends. The prize donut - a bacon maple bar - a bacon strip laying on top of maple glazed goodness.

14_iPhone_LentenXB

A Lent installment for the Information Table at TNL at 4'x4' once again demonstrated the flexibility and functionality of the Scion XB.

15_iPhone_remodel

The long awaited bath remodel began this week that exposed rarely seen sub-floor and copper pipes.
